Tim Burton's drawing
Throughout his creative career Tim Burton has expressed his ideas to others through drawing. Burton worked as a animator for Disney, however, he did not feel at home with the style of animation as it clashed with he own personal style. In 1984 Burton completed the stop animation film Frankenweenie, a story about a boy who brings his dog back to life after it was run over. After Frankenweenie was completed, Disney fired Burton, under the pretext of him spending the company's resources on doing a film that would be too dark and scary for children to see.
Burton expresses the visions he has about his characters to the people that he works with through his drawings. If you look at Burton's designs for Edward Scissorhands you can see how he has developed the mood and feel of the character.
